Catching Yabies - Part I

This was a very hot and dry day, perfect for catching yabies (a sort of huge prawn) by the pond.

Henny preparing the net with bait: barbecued lamb on the bone. Mostly bone, of course. Lamb is too delicious to be wasted as bait.

Marie throwing the net.

And then we just have to wait for a couple of hours.

And get some well deserved refreshments. Catching yabies is really exhausting! :-)

Eedie and her favorite Beer Girl stubby holder.

John the farmer, at work.

Enjoying a splash.

Oh dear, could I be more pale and could my legs be any shorter? Don't think so. It was a very good catch, though! Maybe about 30 yabies all in all.

To be continued...
