I bought many books at the Tokyo Art Book Fair and this is one of my favourites. Tomomi Wako (Ragan Books) collected packages and flyers with the familiar "cut here" sign and arranged then into an accordion book which opens into a full circle, the (actually perforated) cutting line being central to each page. A great piece of Japanese pop culture!
Oh dammit! I forgot to put that in my bag when I left!!
ReplyDeleteBummer ;-)) And I haven't checked how many washi tape rolls and pens under the couch (as you know, those will be MINE!)
ReplyDeleteWonder idea. I like this very much. Why didn't I think of it. Barcodes, barcodes & barcodes. That's my only claim to fame so far.
ReplyDeleteThank you both for the boekie you sent. I'll try to blog it soon. Off to the October fest in Munich this weekend! I'll pog it when I get pack $^ù< tack ;,)'( lack .àé& back. keyboard keeps moving for some reason.
Must be cocktail hour over there?!
ReplyDeleteI didn't hear the bells today!! :-((
ReplyDeleteDean, that boekie was the fruit of some serious fluxus performance involving "on-site"chopping up of very precious Victoria's Secret underwear (I was only the photographer, by the way).
OK, Marie -- did you make that booklet or buy it? I really want it. A lot. And hello to Viz. How much washi did she leave under your couch?
ReplyDeletePamela, I'm so in the red! I bought WAY more books than I sold. I wish I was the one who made this book, but... :-((
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard from Vizma for a few days, maybe she got swept away by the typhoon? :-o In any case she didn't leave one SINGLE roll of washi tape under the couch. Or any pen for that matter. How rude!
Well, that one is a real beauty. I am seeing Vizma on FaceBook so I think she has survived the rain........I wonder how many rolls of tape she actually bought.....
DeleteOh by now it must be in the realm of the three digit numbers...
DeleteOh yeah, we had quite a few Fluxus performance evenings. Even a singing one!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, after the mt expo last week they are definitely in the three digit realm... :-(
She even managed to turn ME into a washi tape fan, and I wasn't a washi tape fan in the least.
ReplyDeleteI dreamed a dreeeaaammm…..
